The Adaptive Data Foundation connects Workday Adaptive Planning directly to operational systems of record, delivering governed, transaction-level actuals, orders, journal lines, inventory, labor, and cash, instead of static GL summaries or delayed extracts. Users configure a source view (e.g., GL balances) and a drill-through target (e.g., journal lines) in Adaptive, and once the pipeline is live, rich actuals flow straight into the plan.

From any balance in Adaptive, a user can drill in a single click to the underlying journal lines, customer detail, and supporting order activity without leaving their workflow, so questions get answered in context instead of triggering a new report. Because the data is continuously refreshed rather than batch-loaded, forecasts and reforecasts reflect what's actually happening in the business right now, not last period's snapshot. The same governed model also powers natural-language, agentic access to the data, so AI tools can answer complex questions against the same trusted foundation used for dashboards and planning.
