Call for Speakers

If you are a technical expert, practitioner, or visionary in the data architecture and engineering community, we want to hear from you!

We are accepting proposals from speakers who can share their experience and insights on the following topics:

  • Automating data pipelines
  • Data integrity and durability
  • Optimizing performance
  • Cloud architecture
  • Migrating compute workloads
  • Workload management
  • Managing costs
  • Leveraging native services
  • Emerging technologies
  • Open-source technologies
  • Security and governance

There are two types of talks we are considering for Zero Gravity 2022:

  • Technical sessions that are rich with examples, code, and/or demos which help the audience understand complex concepts or demonstrate how to use them.
  • Use case talks that provide scenarios the audience can use to solve similar challenges in their own organizations.

The CfS closes on March 11th. We highly encourage you to provide the details of your proposed session as early as possible in order to give the CfS Review Committee plenty of time to consider your submission.

What Makes for a Compelling Session?

Storytelling

If you’ve attended industry conferences before, then you know the best presentations tell a good story and share personal anecdotes. Technical audiences like those attending Zero Gravity really appreciate sessions that focus on practical advice and lessons learned from being in the trenches day in and day out.

Clearly Defined Audience

It’s important to clearly define your audience and explain why/how your presentation is useful for them. Zero Gravity will bring together data architects, data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. What kind of topics would appeal to them? Take care to connect the dots in your speaking proposal.

Clearly Defined Topic

Speaking sessions at Zero Gravity 2022 will be 30 minutes, so it’s best to keep your proposal narrowly focused on a clearly defined topic. This makes it easier for the audience to follow along and get the most out of your session.

Lots of Specifics and Details

One of the best ways to land on the top of our CfS committee’s evaluation list is by including lots of specifics and details about what your talk is about and the value it will deliver to conference attendees. Detailed and thoughtfully considered proposals will receive the greatest consideration. Diagrams and code snippets are always welcome.

Not a Sales Pitch

The CfS committee for Zero Gravity has a keen eye for sales pitches. Please keep in mind that this is an industry event, and so we take great care to maintain the integrity and vendor-neutrality of the event. There are lots of ways to share useful insights on projects and technologies without focusing on the specific vendors behind them.
